"The deadline has passed", writes Hayes III, who earlier in the week threatened to sue Trump if he continues to use the Stax duo's hit song, which was written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter in 1966.

Now the family is making good on the threat, and Isaac Hayes III posts a screenshot of the lawsuit.

"The family has filed a lawsuit against the Republican National Committee, Donald J Trump, and several other parties for copyright infringement", writes Hayes III.

With reference to music rights, the family wants 3 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 31 million kronor, for the occasions when "Hold on, I'm comin" was played during campaign meetings between 2022 and 2024.
