Bo Jansson received the assignment in the spring of 2023. Initially, the assignment was to be reported by October 1, 2024, at the latest, but it is only now being submitted to the government.

In the investigation, Jansson presents a number of proposals that, taken together, are intended to "contribute to creating protected time for planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching and also greater equality between schools in the country".

Among other things, teachers' entire teaching assignment is to be defined in the Education Act, where a minimum time is to be set aside for planning and follow-up of teaching. Also, preschools and schools are to be allowed to decide when and how information about children's and pupils' development is to be provided to guardians, in order to reduce the demands on documentation and information.

"It is crucial that children and pupils receive teaching from teachers who have time for their assignment. Teachers should be able to feel motivated and joyful in their work," writes Bo Jansson.
