Women's Hammarby will have to manage without Klara Folkesson for the remainder of the season. The injury-prone forward has torn the cruciate ligament in one knee, the Stockholm club announces on its website.
"A nightmare message for Klara, of course, and we sympathize with her," says sports manager Johan Lager in a statement.
Folkesson, who returned to Hammarby before this season after, among other things, a foreign adventure on Cyprus, has had problems with injuries for a longer period. Recently, she made a comeback after a hip injury.
"It's a tough message after my already long absence, but I've gone through a cruciate ligament injury before and will do it again," she says.
Hammarby is in third place in the women's premier league.
