The 37-year-old needed medical attention and pain-relieving medication during the quarterfinal against Stefan Tsitsipas – which ended with a win for Djokovic – after slipping on the court and injuring his right knee, which he had operated on in June.

I'm worried about the condition of my knee. I need to get it examined by doctors and then we'll see, says Djokovic about the injury.

On Friday, he will face Italy's Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinal.

I'm playing at 7 pm tomorrow, which gives me a bit more time. But I hope I can be ready and I'm optimistic. I have to be, says the star.

This is Serbian Djokovic's fourth Olympic semifinal, but the gold medals are still missing. He took bronze in Beijing 2008.
