Inflation in Canada at its lowest since 2021

Inflation in Canada fell to 2.0 percent in August, according to the country's statistics agency. It is the lowest inflation in the country since February 2021 and in line with the Canadian central bank's inflation target.

The decline was unexpectedly large from August's inflation, which stood at 2.5 percent. The average forecast among analysts was an August inflation of 2.1 percent, according to the news agency Bloomberg.
