The police report sparked reactions from both the government and the opposition, and everyone agreed that criminals should not run HVB homes in Sweden.
Tommy Hansen is the acting director-general of the Health and Social Care Inspectorate.
All HVB homes for children and young people should be free from unscrupulous criminal actors. That's my stance on the whole thing, he says to Ekot.
There's still some work left for Ivo to do.
At the same time, Ivo has received a rebuke in a case where they stopped one of the companies on the list – but the decision has been appealed and the company has been proven right in court.
The Ekot segment also reveals that Swedish municipalities, in at least two cases, have chosen to terminate contracts with HVB companies, following their own investigations that found links to criminality.
In both cases, it concerns companies that are on the police's intelligence list – but which can still continue to receive young people from other municipalities.
