A 50-year-old man was killed and at least eight people were injured in an air attack in central Tel Aviv, Israel, early on Friday morning. Israel's military (IDF) says the drone comes from the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
According to Daniel Hagari, the military's spokesperson, the initial investigation suggests that it is an Iranian-made drone that was shot from Yemen.
IDF says the drone was "very large" and due to "human mistakes" it was not neutralized before it exploded.
The Houthi rebels in Yemen have taken responsibility for the attack, which also included a robot and three additional drones that were shot down by US military.
In a video on the platform X, Houthi general Yahya Sari says the attack is a revenge for Israel's warfare in Gaza.
We will focus on areas deep inside Israeli territory, he says.
The Iran-backed Houthis have been firing drones and rockets at Israel since the war between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas broke out in October.
No sirens were activated before the explosion occurred in an apartment building near the US embassy in Tel Aviv.
