A hunter in his 70s suffered fatal injuries when he was hit by parts of a tree in the strong wind southwest of Gävle on Saturday.
This is a tragic accident. Initially, the injuries were assessed as moderate, but he later died at the hospital, says Fredrik Lindström, commander at the police's regional command center, to Gefle Dagblad.
The police were alerted to the incident in the area of Hedesunda at around 11:30 am. The top of a tree fell over the man who was in the forest to hunt.
