"Despite 2024 being marked by economic uncertainty, there are signs of a certain recovery to be expected", says Karin Brynell, CEO of Svensk Dagligvaruhandel, in a press release.

She points out that food inflation has decreased and stabilized, but that the price level is still significantly higher than a few years ago.

The sale of organic products continues to decline, a trend that has persisted for several years. What sold best among the organic products were eggs.

"One explanation may be that consumers have chosen Swedish products to a greater extent, but also that price has been prioritized, which has led to organic products being somewhat excluded from the shopping cart", says Karin Brynell.
