An elderly woman was taken to hospital after debris from a downed Russian projectile hit a high-rise building in Ukraine's capital Kiev on Sunday evening, according to Ukrainian authorities.
A fire broke out in the 14-story residential building in the Obolon district in connection with the impact, which occurred at around half past seven local time. Five more people, including a ten-year-old girl, received on-site care, according to Kiev's mayor Vitalij Klytjko.
Kiev's military leadership states that the attack differs from previous ones, which often occur on a larger scale and at night.
"The attacker is trying a new tactic – he's looking for the right moment, method, and means to strike Kiev", writes the head of the military administration Serhij Popko on Telegram and urges Kiev residents to never ignore an air raid warning.
