According to the police, everything indicates that the suspected perpetrator acted alone when he attacked Campus Risbergska and killed at least ten people and injured at least six more before taking his own life.

The man was not previously known to the police and is not linked to any criminal gang. Nevertheless, he is described as a "motivated perpetrator with a deadly weapon".

The police believe they know who the suspected perpetrator is, but will not confirm it at present.

What can be said, however, is that we have a perpetrator who was found in the school. He had a license for four weapons. Three of them were found on him, says investigation leader Anna Bergqvist.

No friends

The National Board of Forensic Medicine's expert group is likely to complete the formal identification on Friday, reports Mitti.

Public records show that the 35-year-old, who according to reports in several media outlets is suspected of being the shooter, has lived in his apartment in central Örebro since 2011. He is unmarried and has no children. In 2017, he changed both his first and last names.

In 2014, the man earned 98,605 kronor. Since then, he has had no taxable income, according to the Tax Agency's records.

He grew up in Örebro and is described in several media outlets as a loner with limited contact with other people.

An old classmate from high school who TT has spoken to describes him as "awkward and different".

In elementary school, they were in parallel classes, and there the classmate describes him as a relatively normal student with a few friends. When they started in the same class in seventh grade, something happened. The now suspected perpetrator began to behave increasingly deviantly, according to the classmate.

"Didn't say a word"

It was very quiet. He had a long period where he didn't talk and held his mouth with one hand. He didn't say a word, says the classmate who wishes to remain anonymous.

The classmate still lives in Örebro and occasionally meets other classmates.

But I've never seen (the suspected perpetrator) since we graduated from ninth grade. I don't think he was very social.

Another former classmate who TT has spoken to describes the suspected shooter in a similar way – as somewhat of a loner.

I share the image presented in the media of him, he says.

He also had difficulties in school and lacked high school qualifications after graduating from high school with incomplete grades. He later attended high school for a while, but also without achieving full grades, according to several media outlets.
