More than half of Swedes, 51 percent, believe in rising housing prices in a year's perspective, shows Länsförsäkringar's housing price barometer for February.
"We believe that mortgage rates will fall to around 3 percent by the summer, which reduces households' interest expenses and supports a price increase on the housing market", says Stefan Westerberg, Länsförsäkringar's private economist, in a press release.
The outcome is a slight decrease from 52 percent in January and 53 percent in December.
In the latest measurement, 38 percent believe that prices will remain fairly stable, 4 percent that they will fall, and 7 percent respond that they do not know.
The survey was conducted between January 21 and February 4 in the form of a randomly recruited web panel with 1,700 participants.
