According to Oleh Kiper, regional governor of Odessa, a married couple lost their lives when a Russian robot struck a suburb of the metropolis by the Black Sea, on Sunday night.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine's air defense had shot down a Russian robot and ten drones during the night. According to Ukrainian Ukrinform, Russia fired a total of three robots and 14 Iranian-made Shahed drones.
"The intruders have attacked the Odessa region with two ballistic Iskander robots fired from occupied Crimea", wrote the air defense on Telegram.
The third robot, an attack robot of the Ch-59 type, is said to have been fired from a Russian-occupied area in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Russia claims to have shot down around 30 Ukrainian drones during the night and morning, writes AP.
Meanwhile, clashes continue around the heavily contested Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. On Sunday, Ukrainian authorities report that a civilian was killed in Russian shelling in the western part of the city, reports AFP.
Since August, over 20,000 people have fled Pokrovsk as the Russian forces have approached. The city is described as strategically located, at the intersection of major road and rail routes that supply the Ukrainian troops in the east.
