The incoming US President Donald Trump wants to appoint North Dakota's Governor Doug Burgum as Interior Minister.
We're going to do things with energy and with land, said Trump during an appearance at his residence in Florida.
It's going to be incredible.
The post will give Burgum, from oil-rich North Dakota, power over plans to increase American energy production.
The Interior Department is responsible for energy supply but also other activities on around 200 million hectares of public land, as well as marine areas.
Burgum, a wealthy former businessman and IT entrepreneur, campaigned to become the Republican presidential candidate but dropped out and backed Trump.
