No suspects have been arrested after rapper C Gambino was shot dead in Gothenburg. According to TV4 News, the police believe that the situation may escalate and have therefore called in extra resources.

The police were alerted at 22:30 on Tuesday evening about a shooting in a parking garage in Hisings Backa. At the scene, a severely shot 26-year-old man was found, who later died in hospital.

The police believe they have a clear picture of how the murder went down.

According to Gothenburg Police, there is a network connection and the victim, the well-known and recently Grammy-awarded artist C Gambino, had a connection to organized crime.

According to TV4 News, the police believe that C Gambino's death may lead to the conflict on Hisingen flaring up and have therefore increased police presence in the area by bringing in resources from other parts of the West Police Region.

Corrected: In an earlier version, an incorrect name of the music prize the artist received was mentioned.
