Now it's possible to play "Fortnite" on iPhone again. The developers Epic Games have released their own app store on Apple's App Store and on Google's Play Store, where the extremely popular game is available.
"Fortnite" has formally been banned from Apple's devices after a long and infected dispute between Apple and Epic Games. The game developers have, somewhat simplified, been upset with Apple and meant that they get too large a share of the revenue from games like "Fortnite". Apple has responded by throwing the game out of its app store.
But thanks to the EU's new data law DMA, which deals with, among other things, competition between companies, "Fortnite" is now available again for iPhone users.
The Commission has been absolutely fantastic. DMA makes it possible to compete with Apple and Google, and we are very grateful for that, says Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney to Svenska Dagbladet.
The work on Epic Games' app store will be managed from Stockholm, according to SvD.
