At least five Palestinians have been killed and several injured in an Israeli raid in the city of Tulkarem on the occupied West Bank.
The attack, which took place at dawn, involved both ground troops and airstrikes. According to the Israeli military, IDF, two military leaders were killed, one from Hamas' armed branch in Tulkarem and the other from Fatah's military militia.
Tulkarem is known as a hub for Palestinian militant activity and is often stormed by Israeli troops.
Violence on the West Bank has increased since Hamas' terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, which led to Israel declaring war on the extremist organization.
Since then, at least 579 Palestinians have died in clashes with Israeli military or with Israeli settlers on the West Bank.
