A building belonging to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem has caught fire, according to Jerusalem Post. The museum is located near the Knesset parliament and houses, among other things, the unique and irreplaceable Dead Sea Scrolls.
The fire broke out in the Golgotha Valley and has been fought by 14 rescue teams, which have four planes at their disposal. The museum has been evacuated.
Later on Sunday, the rescue service announced that the fire was under control. The museum has stated that no art was in the danger zone.
According to the news site Ynet, the fire broke out in a nearby forest and then spread to one of the museum's buildings.
The Dead Sea Scrolls are stored in a special building, "Shrine of the book" (Book Shrine).
