Finland defeated Latvia 3–0 in group A in the Junior World Championship in Canada. If Sweden wins its match against the Czech Republic, Latvia will be the junior crowns' opponent in the quarterfinals.
Finland secured the victory through a goal per period and Latvia was not close to any upset. Latvia finishes fourth in the group.
Finland will be second in the group if Canada defeats the USA, but also if the USA defeats Canada, in both cases provided it happens during regular match time.
