LeBron and Bronny played together in the NBA premiere

History was written when Los Angeles Lakers opened the basketball season in the NBA. On the court were father and son – the megastar LeBron James, 40, and son Bronny James, 20 years old. One of the greatest gifts, says the father about getting to play with his son.

The duo has played together for a short time during a preseason match, but against Minnesota, at home, it was for real.

LeBron James played from the start, but it wasn't until the second period that he got company on the court from his son. They played 2.5 minutes together. Those were the minutes Bronny James got in the match.

Family always comes first for me, but I missed a lot of what my kids did because I was away often due to my commitments in this league. So to get this moment, while I'm still working, to get to work together with my son – it's one of the greatest gifts I've gotten from him up there, says LeBron James in the TV interview after the match.

LeBron James made his 22nd league premiere and said before the match that there might not be many more due to his age.

LeBron and Bronny James are the first father and son to play simultaneously in the NBA, and also in the same team.

The son is expected to play in a development series for most of the season.

The Lakers won with 110–103.
