A man has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter with serious injuries after a workplace accident south of Uddevalla, the police write on their website.
The man is said to have fallen from some kind of device while working in connection with a railway track and got a heavy object on top of him.
He is said to have been conscious immediately after the incident.
The police and rescue services initially stated that the man had fallen from a cherry picker, a statement that was later withdrawn.
