A Fossil-Free Sweden was initiated by the government in 2015 with the aim of increasing the pace of the climate transition. Now the government is announcing that the assignment will be extended by two years.
“It is extremely gratifying that A Fossil-Free Sweden has now received renewed confidence from the government. Our assignment is particularly important in these times, which are more turbulent than usual”, says the national coordinator Svante Axelsson in a press release.
In connection with this, a new focus area is being added – to promote increased demand for fossil-free products and services. This is something A Fossil-Free Sweden has already worked on, among other things, in a project on how public procurement can be used as a tool in the climate transition.
