Bowler Nora Johansson won European Championship gold in Masters and laid success upon success in the championship in Wittelsheim, France.

Johansson defeated Josefin Hermansson in the all-Swedish final and took gold in all three individual disciplines.

Something no Swedish player has managed before.

"It feels absolutely fantastic. I almost didn't believe it. I knew it would be very tough and I had to fight for it. It felt better and better throughout the day", says Johansson in a press release.

The achievement as a whole in the European Championship becomes even more remarkable considering it is the 21-year-old Johansson's first championship as a senior.

In total, she took four golds and medals in all six competitions she participated in. It is the finest achievement by a Swedish bowler on both the women's and men's sides in an international championship.

National team captain Robert Andersson praises the performance:

"What Nora does is fantastic with all golds in her debut and she also breaks a 16-year-old European record. She has an incredible hunger for winning."

The Swedish team took a total of eight medals in the championship.
