The intended members of the next EU Commission seem to be able to be relatively easily approved by the EU Parliament.
So far, all those who have been heard have received clearance from their respective committees, according to sources for the news site Politico Europe.
Maros Sefcovic (trade), Glenn Micallef (culture), Christophe Hansen (agriculture) and Apostolos Tzitzikostas (transport) were approved on Monday and have since been joined by Michael McGrath (justice), Jekaterina Zacharjeva (research), Dan Jørgensen (energy) and Dubravka Suica (Mediterranean issues).
Danish Jørgensen took the opportunity during his hearing to promise not to oppose nuclear power.
