A woman discovered a lump and felt pain in one breast, and sought emergency care at Enköping hospital in the spring of 2024. However, the doctors at the emergency department assessed that the woman had a milk stasis, and she was sent home, according to SVT Uppsala.
When the woman sought care at a health center four months later, it was discovered that she had breast cancer that had spread. The woman later died, according to a Lex Maria report filed with the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo).
