The police in Malaysia have arrested eight people with suspected links to the terrorist group IS.
In total, there are six men and two women aged between 25 and 70 years. According to the country's Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution, the individuals are suspected of having been involved in creating a threat against, among others, Malaysia's Prime Minister and King.
Malaysia has taken robust measures in recent years to limit the influence of terrorist cells linked to IS, and several hundred people have been arrested for suspected links to the network.
The eight arrested individuals were apprehended over the weekend, in connection with raids in four of the country's states.
