A large majority of the major banks' economists, 23 out of the 31 who responded, believe that the Swedish Central Bank should lower the interest rate at each of the four decision-making meetings remaining this year, according to a survey conducted by SvD.
And 30 of them believe that the Governor of the Swedish Central Bank, Erik Thedéen, and his four deputy governors should make the first decision at Monday's meeting, a decision that would be announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
Eighteen of those surveyed believe that the benchmark rate at the end of the year should be 2.75 percent, one percentage point lower than the current benchmark rate.
