There will be no "Star Wars" film in 2026. Disney chooses to replace the unnamed film in space with the children's film "Ice Age 6", which will premiere during the Christmas holidays in two years.
Several "Star Wars" projects in recent years have been postponed or shut down. However, there have recently been consistent reports from the American press that a new trilogy of "Star Wars" films is planned. According to the reports, these films will not be part of the Skywalker era, where the character gallery from the first film from 1977 was concluded with 2019's "Rise of Skywalker".
The next confirmed "Star Wars" film is "The Mandalorian and Grogu", which is set to come out in May 2026, starring Pedro Pascal in the lead role.
