The megastar Céline Dion is turning against Donald Trump playing her song and giant hit from the film about the Titanic's demise "My heart will go on" at an election meeting. But she also takes the opportunity, as it seems, to mock the Republican presidential candidate.
"Celine Dion does not stand behind this or any other similar use (of the song)" announces Dion's manager and record label Sony Music Canada, on the social platform X and emphasizes that Dion has not been asked or approved Trump's use of the song.
"And, really, THAT song?" continues the statement.
The song became a megahit when it was released in 1997 and is perhaps most closely associated with the film about the Titanic's demise in 1912, a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the lead roles.
When Trump held a campaign meeting in Montana on Saturday, the audience saw a video played on a large screen where Céline Dion sings the song.
