The temperature was a good bit below zero in the morning. But there is still a high risk of grass fires in southeastern and inland Götaland later on Tuesday, according to SMHI.
It will be both sunny and windy, which increases the risk of last year's grass becoming really dry, says Emma Härenstam, meteorologist at SMHI.
It is during the afternoon that the risk is assessed as high that, for example, fires or sparks from machines ignite dry grass.
Last year's grass dries out very quickly this time of year, so it's not entirely unusual for the grass fire risk season to start this early, says Emma Härenstam.
