It felt completely unlikely, says Anna-Kajsa Öhrn, who has a farm in the village to P4 Gävleborg.
On Thursday evening, she heard mysterious sounds and went out to look. On the outhouse roof sat a multitude of birds. At first, she did not understand what kind it was - before she realized that it was storks.
Anna-Kajsa Öhrn then discovered that there were also a number of storks on the roof of the actual dwelling house and on a field nearby.
The villagers could count that there were about 60 storks that had come to visit. Many took the opportunity to photograph the birds, including pictures published in Ljusnan.
The unusual guests spent the whole night on the roofs around the farm before they left on Friday morning.
At seven o'clock, they sat on the village road, preened themselves and warmed themselves in the sun. So they got ready for departure, says Anna-Kajsa Öhrn to P4.
The storks belong to this year's release of young storks from the stork project in Skåne, says Staffan Åkeby, who is part of the project's management group, to Aftonbladet.
He says that the young birds do not have any help from older storks that can guide them.
They migrate to South Africa, but it takes a few years before they arrive. Ten years ago, 98 storks from the release nest went up to Östhammar before they turned south, he says to the newspaper.
