A ship that was trawling for crabs off the coast of Onsala peninsula in northern Halland has pulled up a dead body, according to the police.
The dead man has not been identified yet. The body appears to have been in the water for some time, and since it cannot be ruled out that a crime has been committed, the case is being treated as a suspected murder.
Given that we do not know what happened yet, we need to investigate it within the framework of a preliminary investigation. Then murder is the most likely explanation, says August Brandt, press spokesperson for the police.
We are now awaiting the results of the forensic examination, but it may take a few days.
