A man in his 60s has been convicted of unlawful threats against comedian Henrik Schyffert, reports Expressen.
The sentence is 100 day fines at 220 kronor each, plus a fee of 1,000 kronor to the crime victim fund. According to the district court, the threat was not made in direct contact with Schyffert, which is why imprisonment is not an option.
The man left a threatening comment in response to a Facebook ad for Henrik Schyffert's comedy show. The district court therefore considers the content of the comment to be punishable.
I think the district court has come to a good conclusion, says prosecutor Filippa Henkow to Expressen.
Henrik Schyffert comments on the verdict in an Instagram post:
"It's complicated, slow, and annoying to report people who threaten you on social media, but it's the only way we have. Dare to use it... Because it works", he writes.
