The Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar highlights the road election in the government issue as a factor behind the resignation.

"He tried to get the Centre Party to take a stand for a clear government alternative, but did not get a hearing. A tragic end. As long as the Centre Party cannot take a stand, they will not move forward", she writes on the platform X.

According to the Sweden Democrats' party leader Jimmie Åkesson, it is understandable that Muharrem Demirok chose to resign now.

"I cannot blame him, taking over the deeply divided Centre Party after Annie Lööf was a kamikaze mission from the start and I am surprised it lasted that long. I wish Muharrem all the best in the future", Åkesson writes.

Even Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) wishes Muharrem Demirok good luck in the future.

"Now it is up to the Centre Party to choose a new party leader and a way forward", he says in a written comment.

The Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson writes on X, among other things, that Demirok was "a strong voice for better growth policy" while the Green Party's spokesperson Daniel Helldén and the Christian Democrats' leader Ebba Busch thank him for interesting debates.

"Being willing to take on the responsibility of leading a political party is honorable", Ebba Busch writes.
