The Court of Appeal upholds the district court's verdict and acquits a man in his 60s, who was charged with murdering his partner in Hässelby in western Stockholm. He is simultaneously convicted of raping the woman.
It was in March last year that the man himself alerted the police and claimed that his partner, who was in her 50s, had suffered a heart attack.
However, doctors established that the woman had severe injuries and the man was arrested. The woman died two days later due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
In the man's phone, the police found films where he had subjected the woman to sexual acts a few days earlier when she was not responsive.
In the district court, the man was acquitted of murder since it was not deemed impossible that the woman had sustained the injuries in another way. However, he was convicted of rape and sentenced to three years and eight months in prison. This is now upheld by the Court of Appeal.
