The region has hired various types of personnel, such as developers and analysts, since 2018 to work on the introduction of the new system. This has cost a total of almost 800 million kronor until October this year.
It only took three days after Millennium began to be introduced in mid-November before it was paused due to, among other things, technical problems and major protests from personnel. The pause is for an indefinite period.
Despite this, 120 hired consultants are still working, which costs the region millions of kronor every month. According to GP, some contracts will expire at the turn of the year, but the majority will apply until the end of next year.
We are naturally looking at which consultants we need to keep to maintain continuity in the work, says Economy Director Ann-Charlotte Lilja Järnström to GP and continues:
Otherwise, we would really not be careful with taxpayers' money. We do not waste taxpayers' money.
