Six straight wins secured a semifinal spot in the European Championship for Team Anna Hasselborg in Finland.
But after 8–6 against Norway, Sweden then suffered their first loss. The match against rival Switzerland, who have also already qualified for the semifinal, proved too tough, resulting in a 5–7 defeat.
For skipper Hasselborg & Co, two matches remain in the group stage, Turkey and Italy, and the semifinals will begin on Thursday evening.
The men's team has had a much tougher start to the championship, but against Austria, Team Niklas Edin managed to snatch victory, 7–6 after an extra end. This puts them fifth in the table and they continue to chase a spot in the finals. Next up are England, followed by the Netherlands and Scotland.
