It's clear: The duo leaves IFK Gothenburg

Two people are leaving Allsvenskan IFK Göteborg. Chairman Richard Berkling and technical director Ola Larsson. "It has not gone as fast to achieve success as any of us has wanted", says Larsson.

IFK Gothenburg remained in the top division thanks to a better goal difference than Värnamo. After the season, several people have left the club and now it is clear that more individuals are choosing to move on to other assignments.

Ola Larsson, technical director, is one of them.

"When we now review the overall situation for the sport and for the association, we have different views on the risk willingness going forward. I respect that, that we in some parts want to move forward at different speeds", he says to the club's website.

Larsson has since the summer of 2023, among other things, worked on "restructuring IFK Gothenburg's work and organization around the A-team".

He will continue with this until the turn of the year.

"I want to make a really good handover to my colleagues and when I see Blåvitt succeed going forward, I will feel a pride in having been a part of it", he says.

Additionally, it is clear that chairman Richard Berkling is leaving.

Teresa Utkovic – who has been appointed vice chairman at an extraordinary constitutive board meeting – will lead the board work until the annual meeting in March.

"It is the finest assignment I have had and the most important one that has existed alongside my family life. Blåvitt means very much to me", says Berkling to the club's website.
