The artist Chappell Roan has lashed out at boundary-less fans. In two videos on Tiktok, she says that she and her family have been subjected to stalking and harassment, reports The Guardian.
If you saw a strange woman on the street, would you yell at her from the car? Would you harass her openly? Would you go up to a strange woman and ask if she can take a picture with you?, she says, among other things, in the video.
Roan primarily criticizes fans who have become angry after she said no to taking pictures with them, and calls their behavior "uncomfortable".
I don't care if you think it's selfish of me to say no to taking a picture or giving a hug. It's not normal. It's weird. I have to be able to say no to people who behave uncomfortably.
The Guardian reports that Roan as recently as July went out in the podcast "Comment section" and said that she has considered quitting music because of fans' boundary-less behavior.
