Great Britain is sending military forces to Cyprus to help its citizens return home from Lebanon.
"Around 700 British soldiers will be sent to Cyprus in the coming hours", stated the country's foreign ministry in a statement, simultaneously urging its citizens to "immediately leave Lebanon".
More than 550 people are reported to have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon, as the conflict between Israel and the Shia militia Hezbollah has escalated.
