The own goal by Stocksund that gave AFC a 5–1 win was an exhibition of phenomenally poor defensive work by two players, considering they play in the country's third-highest series.
First, the goalkeeper dropped the ball and let it roll past them towards the goal.
Near the goal line, a teammate appeared and managed to push the ball into their own goal.
Bad luck? Carelessness? Or something else? The reactions on social media have been extensive, and voices are being raised that it's a case of match-fixing.
According to SVT, the association's integrity officer Johan Claesson says:
Right now, we're taking a closer look at this match, just like we do every weekend, looking at performances that may be deviant, so we're in an early stage.
Claesson tells SVT that this year, they are investigating three matches related to match-fixing, an improvement from last year's nine. Just a few years ago, the number was up at 30.
What you can say is that an isolated incident on the pitch as a deviation can never in itself be reason to conclude that it's a case of match-fixing.
