The triple Hall of Fame-inducted basketball legend, Jerry West, is dead.
The icon, whose silhouette is on the NBA logo, was 86 years old.
Jerry West was during his playing time one of the world's best basketball players, and was selected as "NBA All Star" on 14 different occasions. He also won the league with Los Angeles Lakers in 1972, and was called during his career "Mr. Clutch", for his ability to decide matches late.
After his career, West was very successful as general manager for Los Angeles Lakers during their "Showtime era". The basketball icon won eight NBA titles as general manager for the organisation.
West died on Wednesday with his wife Karen by his side.
"He personified basketball at the top level and was a good friend to everyone who knew him", writes the NBA organisation Los Angeles Clippers, where he was in charge during his last time.
Even superstar LeBron James showed his support for the icon.
"I will really miss our conversations, my dear friend! My thoughts go to your wonderful family. You are forever loved, Jerry", he writes on X.
