Chinese police have arrested a person suspected of a knife attack on four teachers from a college in American Iowa, who were teaching at a Chinese university in the north-eastern city of Jilin. Three of the teachers were American citizens.
"We are deeply concerned about the stabbing of American citizens", writes the US national security adviser Jake Sullivan on X.
According to the police, it was a 55-year-old man who was walking in a park on Monday, and then stabbed four foreigners and a Chinese person who tried to stop the incident.
It is not clear what motivated the man for the attack.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry reports that no one was seriously injured.
