At least eleven people have died and over 30 are missing in connection with a bridge collapse in Shaanxi Province in China, reports the state media in the country.
The bridge collapse occurred on Friday evening and is said to have been caused by flooding and heavy rainfall, reports the state news agency New China (Xinhua).
Rescue efforts were still underway on Saturday morning, with five vehicles having been recovered from under the bridge by then. Images from the state TV channel CCTV show a river raging over parts of the bridge structure.
On Friday, it was reported that at least five people had died and eight were missing in connection with flooding and landslides in the city of Baoji in the same region.
