An apartment in Rosengård in Malmö was subjected to an arson attack just before 01 on Thursday night.
Someone has thrown flammable liquid into the mailbox, which was then ignited, says Magnus Lefèvre, duty officer at Police Region South.
A number of people were in the apartment during the attack, but no one is reported to have been injured.
It did not develop into a larger fire and I believe they managed to put it out themselves, but the rescue service has been on site and the apartment is cordoned off and will undergo a technical investigation, says Magnus Lefèvre.
A preliminary investigation into aggravated arson has been initiated. Currently, no one has been arrested in connection with the case.
