The search giant Google's owner Alphabet is in talks to buy the cybersecurity company Wiz for around 23 billion dollars (equivalent to 243 billion kronor), reports the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
The Wiz deal would be the largest Alphabet acquisition of all time and an agreement can be presented shortly, according to the newspaper.
The acquisition can strengthen Alphabet's position in cloud services, where the company has fallen behind major tech rivals such as Apple and Microsoft.
Wiz was founded as recently as 2020 by CEO Assaf Rappaport, along with colleagues, and specializes in cybersecurity around cloud services. In a new issue earlier this year, the company was valued at 12 billion dollars.
