Prior to the New York premiere of his film about Donald Trump, the Iranian-Swedish director Ali Abbasi has checked in to the presidential candidate's hotel, Trump International Hotel & Tower, in New York. The floor is not super clean, he says.

I was curious. I wanted to experience Trump's luxury, but it doesn't exist. It's not as luxurious as you would think, he says to Variety.

Via video link, Ali Abbasi then shows his room, which is neither impressively luxurious nor even properly clean.

He realizes that his choice of hotel can be seen as a PR stunt.

The film "The apprentice", which has sparked Donald Trump's anger and created controversy since its premiere in Cannes in May, will finally have its cinema premiere in Sweden and the USA on October 11 – less than a month before the American presidential election. The film will be shown in New York as early as October 8.
