The police were alerted shortly after 11 pm.

We received an alarm from several residents in the area who heard several bangs, it's a multi-family residential area centrally located in Fittja, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the police.

The police suspect that someone has fired shots at a façade of a multi-family house and hit several windows.

Several windows have been damaged.

One person has been detained during the night, according to the police.

No one was injured in connection with the incident, but there were people at home in at least one of the apartments whose windows were hit. Exactly how many apartments are affected is still unclear.

The incident is being investigated as attempted murder.

The police are on site to talk to witnesses and conduct a technical examination of the crime scene. They are also reviewing any potential surveillance cameras in the area.
