The police received several calls about a loud bang at 1 pm on Sunday and have resources on site, according to Anna Westberg, press spokesperson for the police.
No one has been physically injured, but there are minor material damages to the house, she says.
A man under 18 years old was arrested in the nearby area shortly after the incident.
At present, we only have one suspect, but we are not ruling out that there may be more involved, says Anna Westberg.
The police are continuing to gather information, conducting interviews, and mapping out why the incident occurred.
We have information to work with, says Westberg, who does not want to provide further details at present.
The national bomb squad was sent to the site in the afternoon to investigate the area and what had exploded.
Several people witnessed the police operation and arrest. A resident tells Aftonbladet that they were preparing Sunday lunch.
I was standing and frying meatballs for the kids. I shouted for the kids to come in and lie down, as one child was outside. They got quite scared when I shouted for them to lie down on the floor.
It is not yet clear if anyone was home at the time of the explosion. The area is cordoned off pending a technical investigation.
The incident is classified as gross general endangerment and the law on fire hazardous and explosive items.
