Almost every fourth decision-maker asked sees armed conflicts between states as the greatest concern in 2025, writes the World Economic Forum in a press release.
The risk report from the World Economic Forum is based on interviews with over 900 heavyweight decision-makers around the world and has been published annually for 20 years.
The Davos meeting – where political and financial elites meet in Davos, Switzerland, every January – begins next week. The incoming US President Donald Trump has said he will participate this year, via video link.
According to the risk report ahead of the meeting, global decision-makers see a increasingly fragmented world developing. In addition to geopolitical challenges, they point to environmental problems, social problems, and technological development as threats to stability and development.
Economic risks are no longer as prominent, but have links to social and geopolitical problems, according to the report.
